چکیده
Reconstruction of head and neck defects is a delicate endeavor that poses numerous intrinsic extrinsic challenges, which are currently magnified by rising health care costs limitations in system resources. Current trends the United States heavily favor use free tissue transfer over locoregional pedicles flaps (LRPF); however, latter group often undervalued, offering high utility, practicality, cost-efficiency whilst providing equivalent results. The submental island flap supraclavicular artery two LRPF should be arsenal modern reconstructive surgeon.

متن کاملComparison of Perioperative Outcomes between the Supraclavicular Artery Island Flap and Fasciocutaneous Free Flap.
OBJECTIVE Outcomes of the supraclavicular artery island flap (SCAIF) have not been extensively studied in comparison with free tissue transfer (FTT) flaps for head and neck reconstruction. We hypothesize that the pedicled SCAIF has decreased operating room time, length of stay, time to wound healing of recipient site, complications, and hospital charges as compared with FTT. STUDY DESIGN Case...

The use of this flap is reported in 12 patients, with a mean age of 67 years, requiring facial or intraoral reconstruction. A brief review of the key points and some refinements in the operative technique are discussed. ...
